Maintenance Foreman

A reputable company in the food manufacturing sector is seeking a Maintenance Foreman to lead its mechanical maintenance team at a key production facility. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and safety-conscious leader with a strong background in plant maintenance and team supervision. Minimum Requirements: Matric or equivalent Trade Test: Fitter or Millwright, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 5 years’ experience as an Artisan (Fitter/Millwright) 5 years in a supervisory or foreman role Experience with boilers, pumps, and conveyor systems Proficient in planned maintenance systems (e.g., Pragma, SAP PM) Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills Safety- and quality-focused mindset Key Responsibilities: Oversee maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and plant equipment Lead and manage a team of artisans and maintenance staff Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards Conduct inspections and manage the asset register Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for parts and services Provide technical support to operations and ensure minimal downtime Report incidents and implement corrective actions ??
