Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: DH Specialty: MRI Duration: Full-time Shift: Day, Evening Hours per Shift: 32 hours per week Experience: Minimum experience required License: N.Y.S. license required Certifications: BLS certification through the American Heart Association required or must be completed within 90 days of hire. Must-Have: - IV certification preferred or to be completed within 6 months of orientation. - MRI safety certification level 2 required yearly. - Technologist must be certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) or ARMRIT must become ARRT MR certified within 1 year of hire. - Must graduate from an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program. - Continuing education requirements must be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies. Description: Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patients for procedures. Assists radiologists as needed. Prepares, operates, and cares for the equipment being used. Adheres to established standards of care. Pursues appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to established customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides patient care.
