Job Description
We are seeking a Shop Floor Controller to ensure the efficient and seamless execution of production operations. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production task sequencing, managing material flow, and accurately tracking work-in-progress (WIP). This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Quality, Purchasing, Stores, and Production to ensure alignment of materials, schedules, and compliance requirements. Additionally, the Shop Floor Controller will be responsible for data reconciliation in systems such as SAP and will actively support continuous improvement initiatives across the production process. KEY PERFOMANCE AREA: Accurately compile, analyze, and publish production and management reports using log sheets, MHS and PLC data. Verify data integrity before generating reports and distribute them to key stakeholders (Ops, Logistics, Maintenance, MSFC). Maintain comprehensive records of all data and documents. Count floor stock (WIP and finished goods) at each production line and collect downtime sheets and PLC logs. Ensure proper recording and sign-off of PLC sheets, coordinate with Warehouse Manager on discrepancies. Conduct backflush for finished goods per product code, reconcile FG0700 & FG0701 to zero, and validate MUV at close. Reconcile and compare actual versus reported floor stock and update MUV and OEE data in Excel. Post daily MUV to the general ledger and keep QPR updated with PTP and OEE components. Compile all required monthly reports: OEE, MUV, QPR, OPS, PTP, run time, down time. Ensure all work orders are closed by 10:00am, notifying accounting and logistics teams once completed. Maintain a clean, safe workspace and use PPE as required. Report unsafe conditions or defects promptly. Take part in monthly Operations safety meetings. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualifications & Experience National Diploma or a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related discipline Preferably completed supply chain studies (e.g. BPIM, PPIM, CPIM). Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.). ERP systems knowledge—preferably MFG-PRO. Preferably completed administrative studies. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing or materials management. Strong administrative capabilities and proven experience. Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office proficiency. Hands-on experience with ERP systems, ideally MFG-PRO. Competencies Self-disciplined and self-motivated. Self-confident with strong initiative. Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills. Analytical thinker with problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Skilled in ERP system processing—particularly MFG-PRO. Proficient in computer systems for data analysis and reporting. Knowledgeable about company safety procedures and regulatory standards.
