Responsibilities Work in a 30-bed ICU within an acute care hospital Patient population includes trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, and post-TPA patients Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2, with 1:1 for critical cases 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required Required to float to telemetry or med/surg units as needed Charts using Cerner EMR system Works with Hamilton vents and GE telemetry equipment Hospitalist coverage available 24/7 Orientation includes 1 day of floor-specific training Charge nurse present without a patient assignment No nurse aides or IV team; must be comfortable functioning independently Fast-paced unit; adaptability and strong teamwork are essential Scrub color is navy Holiday requests off will be considered but are not guaranteed Unit is traveler-friendly and has a robust interventional radiology program Must be open to asking questions and seeking support as needed Requirements Active CA RN license is required at the time of consideration Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience with trauma patient population Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and COVID vaccination Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies is required; or significant experience with post-TPA patients Completion of a proctored Dysrhythmia test onsite on day one is required Must provide 2 professional references: one from a recent supervisor and another from a supervisor or peer BSN is not required Prior travel nursing experience is preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-605928.
