JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Milledgeville, GA • Service Setting: Emergency Department • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 10/19/2025 Open (initial 6-month assignment) • Clinical Shift Schedule: Physician shifts 6a 6p, 6p 6a; NP/PA shifts various, coverage 9a 1a COVERAGE DATES • Assignment length: 6 months beginning November 3, 2025 • Minimum shifts: 5 • 1 2 providers needed PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics • Patient Volume/Census: 83 patients per day (annual volume 31,758) • Admissions: 8.9% • Case Mix: Full-spectrum emergency medicine • EMS Percentage: 14.8% FACILITY INFORMATION • ED Beds: 22 (including fast track) • EMR System: Epic • Support Staff: MD and NP/PA coverage (24 MD, 23 NPPA staffing model) • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes, expedited locum privileges possible • Credentialing Timeline: days (temps may be granted at credentialing meeting) • Immunizations: TB, Flu, N95 Fit Test required • Orientation: Orientation and EMR training required COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Weekly OT: After 168 hours (based on fixed) • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active state license required (credentialing can begin while license processes) • Board: ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM, ABPS, ANCC, AANP, AANC accepted • DEA: Required • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required • Experience: Residency trained; emergency medicine experience required • Other Qualifications: 1 2 providers needed for coverage DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide direct emergency care to 83 patients daily • Deliver comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and stabilization across trauma, medical, and surgical cases • Work in collaboration with a large team (24 MDs and 23 NPPAs) to ensure continuous coverage • Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient care coordination • Complete orientation and onboarding requirements as part of initial credentialing
