Job Description
Role Overview The On-Site Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and qualifying laboratory instruments at assigned customer sites. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a proactive approach to customer service, and the ability to ensure optimal performance of multi-vendor equipment. The engineer will also provide usage guidance, monitor technology trends, and deliver tailored training to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Technical Service & Maintenance Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a range of laboratory instruments (e.g., HPLC, GC, centrifuges, biosafety cabinets) Conduct instrument qualification based on customer requirements and regulatory standards Execute software and hardware updates in line with manufacturer recommendations Apply and update maintenance and qualification protocols Manage spare parts inventory efficiently to support service continuity Ensure all interventions are documented and traceable in accordance with quality standards Customer Support & Training Provide technical advice and support to customers on instrument usage and performance Deliver internal and external training sessions on equipment within assigned portfolio Maintain regular communication with customers to provide updates and ensure satisfaction Represent the organization professionally during all on-site interactions Coordination & Compliance Plan service activities based on priorities and communicate schedules to management and customer contacts Collaborate with internal teams including QHSE, site managers, technical sales, and support staff Adhere to all QHSE protocols and contractual commitments Propose improvements to service procedures and suggest new equipment or services to customers Organize travel and work schedules to meet service deadlines and quality expectations Required Knowledge & Skills Strong technical expertise in laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, GC, centrifuges, dissolution testers, temperature/humidity monitors, biosafety cabinets) Familiarity with laboratory environments and compliance standards Ability to deliver effective technical training Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written) Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude Qualifications Degree level: Bac2 to Bac5 in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Electronics, or equivalent technical experience Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and service protocols Previous experience in a customer-facing technical role preferred
