Job Description
1. Strategic Leadership & Governance Define and drive the overall vision, mission, and long-term strategy of the distributor. Develop and implement annual and multi-year business plans aligned with group/global objectives. Ensure compliance with local laws, corporate governance, and regional regulatory requirements. Report to the Board/Shareholders on business performance, risks, and opportunities. 2. Business Development & Market Growth Oversee brand positioning, product portfolio expansion, and dealer network development. Identify new market opportunities across Africa (new countries, regions, or market segments). Negotiate and maintain distribution agreements with OEMs and principals. Develop strategic alliances with service providers, financiers, and government stakeholders. 3. Sales & Marketing Oversight Set and monitor sales targets for wholesale and retail channels. Guide marketing strategies to strengthen brand presence and customer loyalty. Ensure competitive pricing strategies aligned with market conditions. Drive digital transformation in sales, CRM, and customer engagement. 4. Operations & Supply Chain Management Oversee vehicle importation, logistics, warehousing, and distribution processes. Ensure efficiency in supply chain, customs clearance, and parts availability. Implement operational excellence initiatives to improve cost control and service levels. Establish aftersales and service strategies to maximize customer retention. 5. Financial Management Full accountability for P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet performance. Secure financing for growth, including inventory financing and capital investments. Ensure robust risk management, credit control, and cost optimization. Present financial performance reports to stakeholders and implement corrective actions. 6. Human Capital & Leadership Build and lead a high-performing, culturally diverse management team. Drive succession planning, training, and skills development aligned with local needs. Foster a performance-driven culture with accountability and integrity. Ensure compliance with labor laws and equitable HR practices. 7. Stakeholder & Government Relations Maintain relationships with OEM partners, regulatory authorities, and local governments. Represent the distributor in industry forums, business chambers, and trade associations. Navigate import policies, tax regimes, and local content requirements. Engage with financial institutions, investors, and community stakeholders. 8. Innovation & Transformation Lead digitalization initiatives in operations, sales, and customer service. Introduce mobility solutions (leasing, rentals, EVs, shared mobility) to adapt to changing markets. Champion sustainability initiatives (EV adoption, green logistics, carbon footprint reduction). Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making. 9. Risk & Compliance Identify and mitigate business, political, and economic risks in African markets. Ensure strict compliance with OEM standards, distributor agreements, and ethical codes. Oversee internal controls, audits, and anti-fraud measures. Implement health, safety, and environmental standards across operations.
