PCU Registered Nurse Job Details Location: Albany, GA 31701 (Georgia nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown Unit (PCU) Employment Type: Travel Nursing (locum tenens) Start Date: October 20, 2025 End Date: February 16, 2026 Contract Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-hour days Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs; natural hair color; no fake nails, shellac, facial piercings, or visible tattoos Charting System: MEDITECH 6.1 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1740 - $1860 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in Stepdown/PCU within an acute care hospital Active RN license (Georgia or compact state) BLS and ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification preferred Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac telemetry strips Comfortable in fast-paced healthcare environments with high patient turnover Willing to float to ICU for stepdown patients (ICU experience preferred) Must reside at least 75 miles from facility (per driver's license) PCU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, including post-CABG and cardiovascular surgery cases Administer and titrate cardiac drips (Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin) Manage patients on BiPap, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and vapotherm Interpret cardiac telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient condition Collaborate with nurse aides, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Participate in patient admissions, discharges, and transfers in a high-turnover unit Float to ICU and assist with ICU-level tasks as qualified Maintain compliance with hospital dress code and attendance policies Join our healthcare team in Albany, GA, and enjoy a supportive work environment with 24/7 access to hospitalists, intensivists, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy.
