ER RN Job Details Location: Tacoma, WA 98444 – Premier destination for Washington healthcare professionals Position: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) Employment Type: Locum tenens / Travel nursing assignment Shift: 12-hour nights (36 hours per week) Assignment Length: 15 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/14/2026) Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Primary Unit: Federal Way OCED (with potential to float to other Tacoma OCEDs) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,880 - $2,020 ER Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Washington state preferred Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (any trauma level) Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required Telemetry competency (must be completed and passed prior to start) Proficient IV skills; experience with ventilators, medication administration, chest tubes, and central lines Strong communication and customer service skills Willingness to float between OCEDs as needed First-time travel nurses welcome – supportive onboarding provided ER RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients Manage patient ratios of 1:4 in the main ED and 1:6 in fast track settings Assess and treat walk-in traumas, cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, psychiatric, and other emergency cases Care for intubated patients; manage ventilators and BiPAP (training provided; no RT onsite) Mix and administer medications (pharmacy support available via video conference) Participate in charge nurse duties as needed (training provided) Float to other Tacoma OCEDs to support patient care as required Utilize EPIC for charting and Alaris/Pyxis for medication management Comply with all PPE protocols, including N95s, PAPRs, and goggles Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career with this exceptional Emergency Room RN job in Tacoma, WA!
