Key Job Details – ER RN Healthcare Jobs in Tacoma, Washington Location: Tacoma, WA 98444 (Washington nursing jobs) Facility: Off Campus Emergency Department (OCED), 8-10 beds Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Locum Tenens Shift: 12-hour night shifts Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed Contract Duration: 15 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/31/2026) Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend Orientation: Comprehensive onboarding with respiratory class and unit educator Parking: Free onsite parking Scrub Color: Any color permitted Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990 - $2130 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of full-time emergency room nursing experience (any trauma level) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Washington state preferred Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Advanced NRP, NIHSS, TNCC Strong clinical skills in ER nursing, including medication administration, chest tubes, central lines, and IV therapy Excellent customer service and communication abilities Competency in ventilator and BiPAP management (training provided) Willingness to take charge nurse responsibilities (training available) Traveler Telemetry Competency – must be completed and passed prior to start Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages and acuity levels, including trauma, cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, psychiatric, and gunshot wound cases Manage intubated patients and operate ventilators/BiPAP (no respiratory therapist onsite) Mix and administer medications under remote pharmacy supervision Perform blood draws and phlebotomy procedures Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team: ED physicians, ER techs, and front desk staff Utilize EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis systems for charting and medication management Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 (standard) and 1:6 (fast track team) Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled Complete all required orientation and competency assessments Apply now to join our Tacoma emergency department as an ER RN locum tenens nurse and make a difference in Washington healthcare!
