Cardiac ICU RN Job Details Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,990 - $2,130 Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/5/2025 – End: 1/3/2026) Nursing Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day/Night rotation) Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours Healthcare Setting: Cardiac ICU (24 beds, nurse-to-patient ratios 1:1 or 1:2; Stepdown 1:3) Location: Falls Church, Virginia 22042 (Northern Virginia nursing jobs) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's; includes day before, day of, and day after) Floating: May float to other ICUs, Stepdown, Progressive Care, IMC, or Telemetry units EMR System: Epic Scrubs: Navy blue pants and solid navy-blue or white tops (jackets: solid navy blue or white) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or Compact State (Virginia nursing license required) BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU, CCU, or CVICU experience Recent (within last 6 months) proficiency with advanced cardiac therapies: VV/VA ECMO, IABP (Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps), TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, PA Catheter Guided Therapy Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips Experience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips Willingness to float to other critical care units as needed ICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to therapy Operate and manage advanced cardiac support devices and therapies Interpret EKG rhythm strips and respond appropriately to changes Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive medications Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans Float to other critical care or stepdown units as needed Participate in orientation (2 shifts) and ongoing professional development Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
