Overview Data Scientist (Resource Allocation/Capacity Planning) – Data Cycling Centre, TikTok. We are seeking a Data Scientist to develop and implement advanced analytical models to optimize resource utilization, forecast demand, and enhance operational efficiency. This role requires a blend of statistical expertise, machine learning proficiency, and business acumen to drive impactful decisions. Responsibilities Optimisation Modelling: Design and develop data-driven models and frameworks that support intelligent assignment, prioritization, and resource utilization across operational workflows. Forecasting: Build and refine demand forecasting models to support workforce planning, inventory management, and operational scaling. Optimization: Design algorithms to optimize resource allocation, balancing cost, efficiency, and service quality. Feature Engineering: Build and maintain pipelines that transform raw signals such as behavioral data, labeling task attributes, and performance metrics into structured features for decision-making. Continuous Improvement: Monitor model performance, iterate on solutions, and incorporate feedback to enhance accuracy and impact. Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for data science initiatives. Stakeholder Management: Communicate project progress, challenges, and results to stakeholders and senior management. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field. At least 1 year of experience applying machine learning, statistical modeling, or optimization to operational or business challenges, with a proven track record of building and deploying predictive models in a business environment. Experience in resource allocation, capacity planning, or operations research. Proficient in Python and SQL; experience with large-scale or distributed data systems. Track record of owning end-to-end data projects, from requirements gathering to implementation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical insights to both technical and business audiences. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in structured operational environments (e.g., service delivery, content review, or quality control systems).
