Job Description

Job Title: Rad Tech Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Imaging Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Radiologic Technologist License: ARRT Radiography Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Must exhibit excellent communication skills. Must be able to function independently and under pressure while actively participating in a team environment. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be detail-oriented with the capacity to effectively multitask. Must be compliant with all established practices, protocols, and procedures. Description: Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures. Requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in utilizing equipment for diagnosis and treatment. Sets up equipment for imaging services and positions patients for procedures. Acts as a clinical coordinator for imaging students. Communicates effectively with physicians, patients, visitors, and staff. Demonstrates the ability to adjust techniques to ensure patient safety and image quality. Reports problems with malfunctioning equipment promptly. Cleans and maintains equipment according to infection control policies. Obtains complete clinical history and assesses for contraindicating conditions. Follows established procedures for administration of contrast media to ensure patient safety. Reviews radiographic images for clinically acceptable results. Responds to emergency situations, restocking crash carts, and maintaining life support equipment. Observes patient conditions, evaluates situations for physician intervention when necessary. Verifies patient identification and correct clinical orders before procedures. Ensures patient privacy and comfort during procedures. Explains the purpose and nature of exams to patients to minimize anxiety. Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees. Completes mandatory education without prompting. Produces high-quality images consistently. Ensures equipment is fully operational before use and checks for calibration. Responsible for sending studies to PACS and maintaining accurate documentation. Maintains an orderly condition in Diagnostic Imaging Services. Transports and positions patients as needed. Assists with patient charging activities on the day of service. Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies. Demonstrates and understands sterile technique and provides pre-and post-procedural care. Prepares patients for procedures and maintains competency with venipuncture when applicable. Completes all required duties efficiently and effectively.
