Job Title: RN Clinical Periop Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Nursing Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 6:30 am - 5:00 pm (4 days/week) or 6:30 am - 3:00 pm (5 days/week) Experience: Minimum 2 years of OR experience required License: RN - Single State or RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - Instructor required Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak the English language - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with excellent customer service skills - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond respectfully to emergencies - Excellent time management skills - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills Description: The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team. This team consists of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure high-quality, safe patient care. The nurse practices in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported by a professional governance model. This practice framework is guided by evidence-based practices and research. All RN Clinical Nurses must be licensed and uphold the nursing practice standards. Nurses are expected to implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics set by professional nursing associations. The individual will focus on patient-centered care that reflects diverse and inclusive interactions. Care will be coordinated in partnership with patients and their significant others. All nursing processes, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, are to be performed using evidence-based practice. Coordination of care delivery and safe documentation is essential. Teamwork and collaboration within the health care team is a key focus. The RN Clinical Periop Nurse will support performance improvement initiatives. This includes participating in research and utilizing evidence-based practices in nursing. Staff development and mentorship roles will also be undertaken to cultivate a qualified workforce. The nurse will uphold organizational policies and meet legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Planning for patient care across the continuum will be an essential responsibility. Development of protocols and procedures will be initiated when needed. The RN Clinical Periop Nurse supports the effective use of resources to achieve optimal patient care outcomes.
