Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg - $1,765 per week in Charlotte, NC

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (0700-1930) Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience preferred License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General Med/Tele skillset including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management (e.g., Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, foley insertion/management). Description: RN - MedSurg/Tele position available. Facility has 874 licensed beds and is a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital. The unit primarily focuses on decompressing the emergency department and other specialty areas within the hospital. Common patient types include adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, falls with injuries, motor vehicle collision injuries, pulmonary embolism, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA. Patient ratios vary by unit: 1:5-6 on primary unit, 1:4 on other units, with potential surge staffing increasing ratios to 1:7-8. Support within the department includes CNAs for vital signs, hygiene care, and assisting with patient needs. Secretaries assist with administrative tasks and stocking needed supplies. A charge nurse is available to assist with oversight. Phlebotomy services are available 24/7 for peripheral blood draws. Telemetry monitoring is done by nursing staff; interpretation is the responsibility of the primary nurse. Technology includes electronic medical records and various medical dispensing and monitoring systems. Floating to other facilities may be required within scope of practice as operational needs dictate. Weekend rotation involves working every other weekend. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Request for time off is limited to 6 days, excluding holidays, and must be added to the end of the contract if unable to meet hours.
