You’ll bring a creative touch and caring attitude to our passionate team of child care professionals who make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community every day. This amazing opportunity comes with paid summers off and we follow DOE closings/ holidays for our Lead Teachers. Kiddie Academy Of Williamsburg is searching for an enigmatic and fun-loving lead teacher for our incredible three- or four-year-old classroom. We are a positive, respectful, and amazing group of teachers and administrators with an outstanding community of family and supports throughout the neighborhood. This is an overall fantastic place to teach! Job Description: The lead teacher is responsible for day-to-day activities including but not limited to teaching children valuable lessons, keeping the classroom clean and organized, tracking student’s attendance, meals, and development, supervising teacher assistants, aides, and on occasion volunteers, engaging parents and caregivers in the development of children and discussing any and all issues with Directors. An ideal candidate for a Lead Teacher: • Creating lesson plans and enjoys teaching young children. • Confidence and interest in leading a classroom full of young children and delegating duties and responsibilities to assistant teachers and aides. • Ability to understand the needs of children and support use of different methods of teaching to inspire each and every child in the classroom. • Track the development of children using teaching strategies gold through tadpoles. • Develop relationships with parents and caregivers and inform them of opportunities to help in the classroom or attend school trips. Keep them apprised of children’s development and needs . • Create an engaging classroom environment where children come to learn and want to learn. • Encourage children’s strengths and work on children’s developmental needs both physical and emotional. A Teacher’s skills include: • Understanding that each child is unique and has unique needs • Working with each child to help them develop • Listening to parent concerns as well as children’s concerns • Record keeping of attendance, meals, and child development • Keeping the classroom neat and organized Required Qualifications: NYS Certified Teacher with Masters, or on a study plan/process of achieving these credentials. Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: Summer Off w/ Pay From 58k- $62k per year
