Production Manager, Manufacturing (Second Shift)

Job Description Job Description What you will do: The Production Manager, working the second manufacturing shift from 3:30 PM- 1:00 AM Monday-Thursday, is the point person for all manufacturing activities that take place in the production areas during the second shift. This position requires a self-starter with the ability to understand objectives as laid out by senior management and to implement programs and necessary steps to achieve these objectives. More about the role 1. Mentors supervisors and line leads, promoting strong leadership skills throughout all levels of the manufacturing department. 2. Fosters a culture of development and support to assist the manufacturing associates with growing and improving within their assembly roles. 3. Making personnel decisions such as interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary actions for Manufacturing Associates, Solution Preparation Associates, Line Leads and Production Supervisors. Monitors staffing needs and works with the production manager to get staffing where it is needed. 4. Manages the training program for all manufacturing employees and solution preparation employees to ensure quality product, minimum waste, and peak efficiencies. 5. Writes, updates and maintains work instructions for manufacturing, assuring that work instructions (a) follow necessary controlled procedures and (b) are followed by personnel through linkage of work instructions to the training program. 6. Manages the hygiene program for the manufacturing department to assure that all products are manufactured in an environment that meets the Company’s standards. 7. Monitors sub-assembly inventory and manages the sub assembly build schedule. 8. Responsible for ensuring that all production machines and equipment are running in good order. Performs basic troubleshooting and repairs as needed. 9. Performs other duties as directed by the First Shift Production Manager or the Director of Manufacturing.
