Job Description Job Description SUMMARY OBJECTIVE A powder technician works in and around a powder mill to grind, rebag, & sift material. A material handler is responsible and accountable for facilitating and supporting the transportation and unloading/loading of materials, inventory supplies, and finished products to designated locations using a forklift and other equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to follow proper procedures for daily start-up and shutdown of plant Performs pre-screening of raw material Bagging (50 pound and one ton) Blending of raw material per customer specs. Proper and safe operation of AC Mill; Roller Pendular Mill; Jet Mill Accurately test and document final product per customer specs. Responsible for re-tagging by - Product with sizing, Bag number, and Lot number as applicable Collects pre and post raw material samples in a timely manner for lab testing Accountable for documenting Lot number and weight; as well as labor hours. Ensure material is properly package and presentable for shipping Responsible for maintenance of clean and orderly work environment Accountable for receiving, distributing, and storing products per company directives in designated, secure locations. Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information. Responsible for reviewing shipments for quality as well as accompanying documents for accuracy. Confirms shipping details and/or special instructions including expediting any shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule. Responsible for transporting and loading materials, supplies, and finished goods utilizing best method whether manually and/or utilizing tow motor trucks, overhead crane with chains, and pallet jacks. Prepares finished product for shipment by identifying, pulling, staging, packing, crating, loading, and securing product. Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping to ensure the Company maintains a safe and clean work environment. Accountable for maintaining an updated account of stock and inventory utilizing applicable systems per Company directives. Responsible for customer returns by completing appropriate technical documentation including providing any required communication to customer and internal departments. Ensures all material handling equipment is maintained in the best, safe operable condition by following a maintenance schedule and reporting faulty equipment, improper operations, and unusual conditions to the manager. Responsible for maintaining the availability of products and notifying the manager when products are damaged or in short supply. Collaborates with internal departments to locate missing packages. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of forklift experience. Forklift Certification preferred. At least one year of related experience working within a material and/or logistics manufacturing or distribution environment. Previous experience reading and following instructions, utilizing basic math and a tape measure. Previous experience working in outdoor environments lifting 50 pounds as needed.
