Our client is the UK's leading supplier of high-quality measuring instruments and a vacancy now exists for a Warehouse & Accounts Assistant. As the UK & Ireland distributor for key Corporations, they supply automated petroleum test equipment for the petrochemical offshore and refining industries, and the company has grown to hold a major market share in its territory. The Role: We are seeking a proactive and organized Warehouse and Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role combines responsibilities in warehouse management and basic accounting functions, ensuring smooth operations in both areas. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy, order processing and providing administrative support to the financial controller. Warehouse Management: Assist with the receiving, checking and storing of goods. Maintain accurate stock records and inventory control, ensuring stock levels are monitored and updated in real-time. Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timelines. Conduct regular stock counts and assist with stock audits as required. Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized and compliant with health and safety regulations. Manage the movement of goods, ensuring products are stored in the correct locations for easy access. Assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries. Prepare and process shipping documentation. Accounts Support: Process and maintain purchase orders, invoices and payment records. Assist with data entry for accounts payable and receivable. Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies related to invoicing or stock discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and assist with the preparation of financial reports. Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager including filing and organizing documents. General Administration: Assist with general office duties, including answering calls, emails and maintaining communication with vendors, suppliers and customers. Manage correspondence, ensuring timely responses to inquiries. Help maintain filing systems for both warehouse and financial documents. The Person: Good academic qualifications demonstrating numeracy. Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or inventory management role ideally in shipping dangerous goods and importing and exporting packages internationally. Basic accounting experience or knowledge of accounting software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and knowledge of SAGE accounting software is a plus.
