Accounts Assistant Law Firm

Due to continued growth, our client has a new opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join their team. Are you an experienced Legal Cashier, an experienced Accounts Assistant - or are you looking to start your Accounts career having gained the qualifications - just hungry for the chance to get stuck in? If so, you could be perfect to join this close-knit, friendly accounts team. This role is full or part time, office based. What You’ll Be Doing * Assisting with day-to-day accounts and transactions * Learning to manage client and office accounts in line with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (SRA) * Supporting the finance team with invoicing, payments, and bank reconciliations * Helping fee earners with financial queries * Developing your knowledge of legal accounting systems * Checking client balances and working with fee earners to clear following completion, ensuring balances are returned promptly; * Transferring costs and disbursements; * Liaising with clients by phone to take card payments What We’re Looking For * Strong numeracy and attention to detail * Good organisation skills and reliability * Willingness to learn legal financial procedures * Basic experience with Excel * Experience of bookkeeping software would be an advantage * A background in finance or legal support is desirable * Accounts experience - or AAT qualified at some level * Excellent communication skills * Motivated, pro-active and highly organised, with good attention to detail * Excellent time management skills * Friendly, confident, polite, customer service orientated Due to the large number of responses we receive it is not always possible to respond to every application straight away.
