Health and Safety Manager

Your new company Hays are working with a well-established regional main contractor that delivers on high-quality construction projects across private and public sector projects. Your new role As an experienced Health and Safety Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance across multiple construction sites. This is a vital role within the business, ensuring that safety standards are not only met but continuously improved, driving a positive health and safety environment at all times. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practices. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting, ensuring corrective actions are implemented. Deliver training and toolbox talks to site teams and subcontractors. Liaise with external bodies such as HSE, local authorities, and clients regarding health and safety matters. Monitor and report on health and safety performance, producing detailed reports for senior management. Champion a culture of safety, promoting awareness and engagement at all levels of the organisationWhat you'll need to succeed NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification Member of IOSH Valid CSCS card. Proven experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM regulations. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and influence others.
