Job Title: Registered Nurse - Long Term Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: Registered Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must-Have: - Strong leadership skills - Experience in clinical nursing - Knowledge of regulatory compliance Description: The RN provides clinical leadership to the neighborhoods. This ensures the mission, vision, and values of the organization are supported through clinical services. The RN participates in planning, organizing, directing, and facilitating the clinical operations of the household. This is to ensure regulatory compliance and nurture a person-centered and resident-directed culture. The RN promotes individual and team learning in the household. The RN provides residents with professional licensed nursing assessments and evaluations. Care coordination with other nursing staff in the household is essential. Key responsibilities include leadership to clinical staff in specific areas of clinical accountability. Areas of accountability may include infection control, safety, wound management, and quality care. The RN guides the implementation of clinical policies and procedures. This ensures safe, sanitary, and efficient practices that support professional nursing care standards. Documentation, medication administration, resident nursing care, and resident rights must comply with facility and government standards. The RN guides clinical staff to support organizational fiscal viability through efficient use of resources. Maintaining clinical staffing and staffing patterns consistent with facility objectives is crucial. The RN fosters collaboration and negotiation to address problem-solving in the household. Communication of clinical policies and procedures to all household members is necessary. Maintaining a professional relationship with physicians and other medical professionals is expected. Dementia sensitivity is required. The RN must demonstrate care practices for residents with dementia that promote individualized person-centered care and well-being.
