Yard Supervisor

My client has an opening for a Yard Supervisor to join their team. Key Responsibilities * Supervision: You'll oversee and coordinate the activities of yard workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely. * Operations Management: Manage daily yard operations, including scheduling workloads, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Logistics Coordination: Schedule and monitor inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper handling and storage of materials. * Staff Management: Hire, train, and evaluate yard staff, conducting performance appraisals and implementing disciplinary actions as necessary. * Safety Compliance: Develop and implement safety programs, conduct routine inspections, and ensure adherence to workplace health and safety regulations. * Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, place purchase orders as needed, and maintain a neat and organized yard. * Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory role, particularly in logistics or yard operations, is essential. * Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are necessary. Familiarity with safety regulations and inventory management systems is also beneficial. * Work Environment: The role may involve working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires physical stamina to manage yard operations effectively.
