Position The Investment Counselor (IC) is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their own field and the business. They are recognized as the authority for investment products and market trends within the business. To be effective in this role, the IC is required to communicate and disseminate market views both internally and to external clients. The IC is also expected to formulate investment proposals which best suit client needs. We’re currently looking for a high-caliber professional to join our team as AVP, Investment Counselor (North Asia) , based in Singapore. Responsibilities Working closely with Relationship Managers, the Investment Counselor (IC) manages investment relationships and delivers the Chief Investment Officer’s (CIO) views to wealth clients. The IC is expected to function as one of the primary client contacts and trusted investment advisor for clients, including direct selling, determining suitability, identifying product-specific opportunities, portfolio advice and after-sales execution. Works closely with the Market Managers to support Relationship Managers serving clients in North Asia Markets. Partners with Relationship Managers to grow existing clients’ share of wallet and win a greater percentage of high net worth prospects by delivering quality solutions that meet individual client needs. Educates sales force on product solutions, creates customized proposals for high net worth clients and accompanies sales professionals to deliver solutions in client meetings. Collaborates with colleagues to offer complete advice and wealth solutions to clients. Leverages specialists and wholesalers to provide subject matter expertise and presents or co-presents at client events. Provides a high level of communication and customer service to sales professionals and their clients. Accounts for product revenue goals and penetration goals. Other duties as assigned. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgement, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Qualifications 6-10 years of experience in investment product sales required. Broad understanding of financial services, product solutions and all aspects of financial planning strategies and concepts. Client-centric skills including excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Able to converse in business-level Mandarin and/or Cantonese to serve clients within North Asia market. Specific licensing may be required. Expect up to 50% travel. Education Bachelor’s/University degree; Master’s degree preferred.
