Network Administrator | University of Mary | Bismarck, ND At our partner institution at University of Mary The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the network infrastructure and assisting with cybersecurity duties. The position requires collaborative work within a team of network and system administrators to ensure IT services are functioning effectively. This position also requires the ability to assist in PC management and maintenance as needed. The Network Administrator position reports to the Technical Director. This position is full-time on-site at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Hours may vary. Responsibilities : Maintain the network infrastructure within a team of technical staff. Support cybersecurity services and configurations. Configure and upgrade firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points. Maintain documentation for all network equipment, including configurations and network maps. Coordinate with the facilities department for network cabling installation, adhering to industry standards. Assist in maintaining WAN and Internet connections, including remote VPN configurations. Work with monitoring systems to generate alerts for service outages. Assist in capacity planning for network devices and applications. Work with the Systems Admin Team on network security policies and procedures. Manage IP address allocations and public-facing IP space. Provide budget requirements for hardware and software to support the network. Stay current with technological developments in security and networking. Maintain detailed technical and operational documentation. Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support for network and systems. Assist with computer maintenance, troubleshooting, and help desk duties. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years experience in network administration or cybersecurity. Understanding of infrastructure security, including firewalls and antivirus. Knowledge of wireless technology. Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and customer service skills. Systems administration and PC support experience is a plus. Experience with EDR and IDS systems preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions as needed. Preferred Qualifications : Experience with Aruba, HP, Cisco hardware. Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP. Training and project management experience.
