TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified CVICU RN in Washington, Washington DC, 20010! Pay Information $2,279 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day and Night Rotation Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry, vents, and high acuity units required. - Completion of 1 prior travel assignment is mandatory. License: - DC RN Licensure required; pending DC license accepted, but must have license prior to the start date. Certifications: - BLS - ACLS Must-Have: - Pulmonary Artery Line experience preferred. - Level 1 trauma and post-op experience preferred. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the CVICU. The shift will include a variable schedule with an equal split between day and night shifts. Weekend coverage will be included in the rotation, with holiday coverage expected. There are no call requirements. The candidate must float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. Interdisciplinary support will be available, including services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The unit focuses on patients post cardiac surgery and major vascular surgery, along with patients experiencing heart failure on temporary mechanical circulatory support. Daily census will vary between 25-32 patients, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 during both day and night shifts. Special equipment utilized includes VAD, CRRT, pacing devices, and ECMO. The position requires skills in various areas such as arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, and management of dysrhythmias. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, blood product administration, and care of surgical wounds. Candidates should be familiar with titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and starting IVs.
