Sales Representative (Wholesale Industry) - Remote Position

Job Description
Role Purpose The Sales Representative will be responsible for servicing existing accounts, obtaining orders, and establishing new accounts in the wholesale industry. The role focuses on maximising sales opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving growth within the FMCG market segment. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Grow business in the wholesale market by establishing new relationships and developing opportunities. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers via in-person meetings, calls, and emails. Arrange and attend meetings with potential clients to prospect for new business. Negotiate agreements and close sales within authorised parameters. Log client activities on CRM and follow up accordingly. Manage channel sales agents on merchandising and in-store sales. Attain sales budgets across all channels as set by management. Merchandising & Store Support Implement merchandising strategies and ensure effective product promotion. Conduct basic merchandising of stock on customer shelves (before/after photos, price checks, restocking). Ensure planograms are followed and products are displayed correctly. Install and maintain POS material, free-standing units, gondola ends, and cross-merchandising displays. Conduct in-store activations (wet demos) and ensure stock availability for activations. Reporting & Market Intelligence Gather market and competitor pricing information. Track product stock sold per period and escalate any quality issues. Provide weekly and monthly reports on sales activities, figures, and objectives per store. Forecast requirements and contribute to annual budget preparation. Report on discrepancies or issues with sales team performance to senior management. Health & Safety Participate in safety meetings and forums. Follow safety policies and procedures at all times. Report incidents and comply with company safety standards. Wear protective clothing where applicable. Minimum Requirements Diploma in Sales/Marketing (2 years) recommended. Minimum 5 years relevant experience in wholesale/FMCG. Strong established relationships within the FMCG market. Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales goals. Valid drivers licence (essential). Computer literacy in MS Office Suite. Skills & Attributes Customer service-oriented with excellent relationship-building ability. Strong financial acumen and sales orientation. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Self-starter with the ability to work independently. Market awareness and strong persuasiveness. Organised, proactive, and results-driven.
