Overview Fellow role at Inside Higher Ed. The on-site fellow will guide the Summer Institute participants through the completion of their annual social justice projects. The on-site fellow will also work collaboratively with the BQE Project Director in capacity building efforts, sustaining community partnerships, and organizing the Faculty Collective Retreat and Summer Institute. The on-site fellow will also work collaboratively with the BQE Project Director in capacity building efforts, sustaining community partnerships, and organizing the Faculty Collective Retreat and Summer Institute. Supervisory Authority None Nature And Scope Internal contacts include BQE Project Director. External contacts include Black Queer Everything Faculty Collective, BQE Summer Institute participants, community partners. Principal Accountabilities Deepen our local and national network of academic and community partners. Mentor summer institute fellows. Maintain a resource list of cutting edge curriculum and movement issues Coordinate and facilitate BQE events virtually and in-person, including faculty retreats and summer institutes. Performs other duties as assigned. Core Competencies Familiarity with fields of study within the humanities at the intersections of queer of color scholarship and/or Africana studies Experience or engagement with community-based research and non-profit work Knowledge of Google Suite (e.g. Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) and Zoom Experience with facilitating group discussions Proficiency with public speaking Demonstrated commitment to black queer communities Minimum Requirements BA/BS degree required; MA degree in an interdisciplinary or related field preferred.
