Job Description
Overview We are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to lead modernization and migration initiatives while delivering scalable, secure cloud-based solutions. This role is critical in managing AWS infrastructure, enhancing operational standards, and promoting team collaboration for seamless system and process integration. Responsibilities Deploy AWS services such as ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, and CloudWatch Design scalable cloud-native solutions for application infrastructure Conduct server patching, monitoring, backup, and scaling workloads in AWS Create automation scripts and tools for provisioning using Ansible Set up Ansible-driven configuration management for updates and system state Coordinate hybrid systems throughout migration processes Build CI/CD pipelines for automated application and infrastructure deployment Facilitate the adoption of modern tools like GitHub and version control practices Run containerized workloads using Docker and AWS ECS/EKS Establish data pipelines with services such as AWS Glue for data movement Develop secure APIs for exposing and integrating data Configure networking setups including VPCs, load balancers, and hybrid cloud connections Enable communication between on-premises systems and AWS resources Support teams in automation, cloud-native operations, and system enhancements Work in collaboration with engineering, DevOps, development, and analytics teams during migration processes Requirements 5 years of experience within systems engineering, cloud operations, or DevOps 1 years of leadership experience in a relevant domain Knowledge of AWS services like ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, and CloudWatch Skills in IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and configuration management with Ansible Background in containerized workloads via Docker or AWS ECS/EKS, and CI/CD pipeline creation Familiarity with hybrid cloud connectivity and networking configurations such as VPCs and security groups Expertise in developing secure APIs and integrating data pipelines (e.g., AWS Glue) Fluent English communication skills at a B2 level Nice to have IAM configurations and secure API management certification We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000 courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn Details Seniority level: Mid-Senior level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Engineering, Information Technology, and Business Development Industries: Software Development, IT Services and IT Consulting, and Retail J-18808-Ljbffr
