Job Description
Overview We are looking for a motivated Scala Developer to join our team and contribute to the development and optimization of inventory tracking solutions. This role focuses on enhancing the performance, scalability, and stability of the core Inventory microservice built with Scala and MySQL. You will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects in an innovative and collaborative environment. Responsibilities Build robust and scalable software with an emphasis on maintainability and effective testing Participate in technical discussions to design and implement new architectures and solutions Perform code reviews to uphold quality standards and drive continuous improvement Contribute to fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment Make informed technical decisions to ensure systems meet quality, reliability, and security objectives Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline At least 2 years of experience in software development with a proven ability to deliver impactful solutions Comprehensive understanding of programming principles and the ability to select appropriate tools and patterns for specific challenges Passion for crafting well-written, efficient code to deliver exceptional software experiences Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment focused on customer-driven solutions Expertise in Scala, including experience with GraphQL and REST API development Proven ability to take initiative and solve complex technical problems Strong communication skills for effective collaboration, whether in person, via Slack, or email Highly proactive, results-oriented, and skilled in critical thinking Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written, at a B2 level or higher Nice to have Experience developing high-throughput and resilient systems Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana Knowledge of data normalization and denormalization principles, including challenges with asynchronous data projections Experience working with PHP or TypeScript We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000 courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn J-18808-Ljbffr
