Job Description

Alexander Steele Recruitment has partnered with an award-winning food business supplying all major UK retailers and foodservice customers with both branded and own-label products. They are urgently looking for a Supply Planner to source high-quality products from worldwide suppliers, manage supplier relationships, and ensure that the business meets their customers' needs efficiently and ethically. On Offer Basic salary will be circa £40K to £45K Discretionary & EOT Bonus Matched pension contributions (up to 5%) Healthcare & life cover Hybrid working (work from home on Fridays) Key responsibilities Work closely with suppliers, co-packers, and production teams to align supply with demand, manage lead times, and resolve constraints that could impact availability. Support all aspects of the purchasing process from identifying new suppliers, understanding market movements, and managing order placement. Translate customer demand forecasts into supply plans, ensuring sufficient stock availability while minimizing waste, particularly given the short shelf life of food products. Monitor stock levels across distribution centres, balance supply with demand, and set safety stock parameters to ensure high service levels without overstocking. Candidate requirements A tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Management or equivalent will be preferred. At least 3 years’ experience in Materials Planning, Supply Planning, Buying or Purchasing in an FMCG environment. Strong negotiation and influencing skills Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
