Category Lead Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dumfries Permanent £52,000 - £54,500 Morgan Hunt are delighted to partner with a large public sector organisation who operate in Scotland and have offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dumfries. This is a unique role in the public sector landscape, offering the opportunity to shape strategic category management and take ownership of a defined category portfolio, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while leading on strategy development and contract management. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and delivery of category strategies within your portfolio. Manage end-to-end procurement activities in line with public sector regulations. Engage, influence, and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Analyse market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform procurement decisions. Drive continuous improvement, sustainability, and social value through commercial activity. Mentor and support colleagues, contributing to a culture of excellence within the team. About You Proven experience in procurement and any category management (public sector). Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance compliance and innovation. Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. Knowledge of public procurement regulations. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Passion for delivering outcomes that benefit the public sector and wider society.
