Project Manager – Building and Parkade Restoration

About Our Client: Our client is a building restoration company working on an important project in Kamloops, BC. We are looking for a Project Manager to join their team, bridging communications in the field with key stakeholders involved in the project. The project is a major parkade restoration project. We are open to junior to intermediate level project managers who have experience in some form of construction, with excellent communication skills. Candidates who are looking for experience working as a full PM, with a background in project management or project coordination in construction are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: Review project specifications, drawings, addendums, and contracts to confirm scope and deliverables. Ensure all required permits and approvals are obtained before mobilization. Develop a detailed project schedule, including sequencing of topping removal, substrate repair, and topping installation. Prepare submittals (shop drawings, material data sheets, safety plans) and ensure timely consultant/client approvals. Review all Health and Safety documents to ensure compliance with the local safety authority and client requirements. Confirm site-specific and crew-specific requirements are met, including certification requirement. Confirm and implement security protocols as per client. Coordinate mobilization activities (fencing, hoarding, signage, scaffolding, access points, C cans, site office, portable washroom, disposal bins, etc.). Advise client of deliveries and installations as required. Prepare and organize on-site safety documentation (safety board, project binder). Confirm emergency resource equipment is available, up to date, and organized as per the Emergency Response Plan and Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan. Confirm that subcontractors and crews engage in site orientations and understand safety requirements as well as required security protocols. Ensure that required equipment, materials, and PPE are procured and delivered on time (for project start and ongoing as project progresses). Setup accounts with local suppliers, hardware stores, rental shops, and repair shops relevant to project scope. Monitor topping removal progress to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines. Review concrete substrate inspections with engineers and confirm necessary repairs are approved and executed. Verify manufacturer’s installation guidelines are followed for primers, membranes, and coatings. Maintain quality documentation (inspection reports, test results, approvals). Ensure dust suppression, noise control, and waste disposal procedures meet environmental standards. Verify fall protection systems are in place where applicable. Act as the primary point of contact with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors. Schedule and provide notice to relevant parties for planned inspections. Update senior management with changes, additions, or other key points discussed on site. Work closely with the Site Foreman and ensure all concerns are documented and properly addressed. Provide weekly progress updates, reports, and photographs to stakeholders. Address RFIs, change orders, and site issues in a timely and professional manner. Hold regular site meetings to review safety, progress, and upcoming work. Oversee final inspections with consultants and client representatives. Ensure deficiencies are documented and rectified before project completion. Deliver warranty documentation, maintenance manuals, and final reports. Document project completion photos (for internal use, warranty, deficiencies, and client use if required). Qualifications: A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in project management or project coordination in construction. Familiarity with building restoration or parkade resurfacing is a major asset. Strong leadership and strategic planning skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities. In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards, regulations, and best practices. Experience managing a project budget and updating management on cost controls.
