Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain services. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company targets. Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs. Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients. Collaborate with internal teams (operations, finance, and customer service) to ensure seamless service delivery. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements. Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums. Monitor sales performance and report on KPIs, pipeline status, and forecasting. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years experience in sales or business development in the logistics or supply chain industry in Kenya. Strong understanding of freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, or transport logistics. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Self-driven, strategic thinker with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel locally. Skills: Existing network of logistics clients or industry contacts. Knowledge of regional logistics corridors (e.g., Northern Corridor, Port of Mombasa). Experience with digital logistics platforms or SaaS logistics solutions.
