Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Junior–Mid Level Cybersecurity Engineer to join a growing financial services firm in Singapore. This is a permanent opportunity for someone passionate about safeguarding systems and eager to strengthen enterprise defenses across cloud, endpoints, identity, and collaboration platforms. As part of the security engineering function, you will manage deployed solutions and controls, implement new technologies, and evaluate emerging tools for future adoption. This role involves day-to-day operational security responsibilities while working closely with IT, Site Reliability, and Product Engineering teams to ensure a secure and compliant environment. Responsibilities Manage daily security operations: triage alerts, investigate incidents, and lead response through containment, remediation, and lessons learned. Maintain and refine detection rules, playbooks, and processes to minimize false positives and improve response time. Provide user support on security tool issues. Strengthen AWS security services (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, Config, KMS, WAF). Manage MDM for device compliance, patching, encryption, and baselines. Enhance cloud and SaaS security (DLP, access controls, OAuth app governance, identity hygiene, MFA/passkeys). Evaluate and conduct proof-of-concepts for new security tools. Support IT operations as needed. Deploy new security solutions and integrations, with proper documentation and handovers. Build automation for security processes and tooling. Maintain asset and inventory accuracy, least-privilege reviews, and change controls. Contribute to risk assessments, vendor reviews, and audits (SOC 2/ISO 27001 standards). Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in security engineering with hands-on exposure to at least one of the following: SIEM, MDM, systems hardening, or cloud security. Strong experience in managing tool lifecycles (from proof-of-concept through integration to decommissioning). Solid understanding of computing systems and operations. Ability to collaborate in a team and adapt to evolving deliverables. Flexibility to work across time zones when required. Preferred Skills Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Background in security automation and scripting. Experience developing or formalizing security processes. IT systems knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
