Data Engineer – Barcelona Our partner is a global digital content distribution company that delivers magazines, newspapers, and other media to millions of users worldwide. Their platform powers publishers, retailers, and service providers, handling large-scale data flows and unlocking new digital revenue streams. They are looking for a Data Engineer to join their team in Barcelona. The role will be key in designing and scaling their data platform, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient data flows that power analytics and business decision-making. What you’ll do Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines in Databricks, PySpark. Manage data storage, access, and integration with AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda, Athena, IAM). Containerize and deploy workflows with Docker and AWS Fargate. Orchestrate pipelines using Apache Airflow. Optimize SQL queries for large datasets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data solutions. Support analytics and ML teams by ensuring high-quality, reliable datasets. What we’re looking for Strong Python and PySpark experience. Proven track record building data pipelines on Databricks or similar platforms. Solid AWS knowledge (S3, EC2, Lambda, Athena, IAM). Proficiency in SQL. Experience with containerization (Docker, Fargate/Kubernetes) and workflow orchestration (Airflow). Git version control. Nice-to-have Looker or other BI tool experience.
