Job Description
Inventory Manager Public Water Sector Location: Polokwane Sector: Public Water Utility Type: Full-Time | Permanent Remuneration Package: Up to R1 million per annum, commensurate with experience and qualification Our client in the public water sector is seeking a seasoned Inventory Manager to lead and enhance their stores operations. This role demands precision, strategic oversight, and a deep understanding of compliance frameworks to ensure accurate stock control and efficient invoice processing. Primary Purpose To manage and optimize inventory systems, processes, and controlsensuring accurate stock levels, timely invoice receipting, and full compliance with PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and related legislation. Key Responsibilities As Inventory Manager, you will be accountable for: Designing and implementing inventory and invoice receipting processes Establishing internal control systems for inventory and invoice management Monitoring invoice capturing on SAP by store administrators Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual stock reconciliations (including water inventory) Maintaining accurate physical and system-based stock records Identifying and managing redundant, obsolete, or damaged stock Conducting regular stock counts and invoice audits Overseeing the receiving, issuing, and storage of goods Leading the setup and management of storehouses and stock levels Ensuring financial compliance with PFMA, PPPFA, and Treasury Regulations Implementing risk and audit action plans related to stores Supervising subordinates and ensuring adherence to HR policies and training plans Knowledge & Skills Were looking for a candidate with: Proven expertise in inventory and stores management Strong working knowledge of PFMA, PPPFA, and Treasury Regulations Proficiency in SAP and ERP systems Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Leadership ability and cross-functional coordination experience Decision-Making & Impact This role involves strategic decision-making in inventory systems, policy development, and operational coordination. Your judgement will directly influence organisational efficiency, compliance, and service delivery. Qualifications & Experience National Diploma in Logistics or BCom in Accounting Minimum 4 years experience in inventory/stores management Reporting Structure You will report to: Head of Department You will supervise: 5 Subordinates Closing Date: 08 September 2025
