Role Overview We are seeking a highly capable Legal Counsel with a minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience to join the bank’s Singapore office. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing contentious banking and commercial matters, working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel. Key Responsibilities Advise on and manage a range of banking disputes, litigation, and contentious regulatory matters across the region. Provide pragmatic legal advice to business and functional units on contentious issues, potential exposures, and risk mitigation strategies. Liaise with external counsel, oversee case management, and ensure cost-effective resolution of disputes. Support internal investigations and regulatory inquiries. Collaborate closely with the wider legal team to ensure consistent application of legal and compliance standards across the bank’s operations. Requirements Minimum 6 PQE, qualified in a common law jurisdiction. Strong experience in banking disputes and litigation, ideally gained in a leading law firm and/or financial institution. Familiarity with banking and financial services laws and regulations in Singapore and across the region. Prior exposure to the retail and/or wealth banking sector will be highly regarded. Proven ability to manage contentious matters independently and in collaboration with senior stakeholders. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
