Job Description

Goal Ensure the compliance for the International Standard Organization (ISO 14001 & 45001), ensuring the certifications required for the customer and company. As well, comply with the local matrix of legal government regulations (at the federal, state, and municipal level in matters of safety, health, hygiene, and security) and corporate compliance for the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security. Also, promote a Safety Culture, through to the HPT´s and employees, to prevent risks and incidents, negative environmental impacts, providing a safe and healthy work place through the EHS programs. Responsibilities Maintain compliance of the JCMS, ISO 14001, 45001, FM Global and others. Attend external compliance audits (internal or external). Monitoring the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security regulations for single or multiple facilities. Use EHNESA system to ensure all legal requirements per site. Identify and intervene to correct unsafe and off standard conditions, when immediate correction is not possible report to direct manager or to the corresponding department. Actively participate in the Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, others). Ensure training and execution of Management of Change Process in the current and new projects ensuring non penalties in the process. Identify, report any injury or potential injury and any potential environmental impact and crate action plans to avoid recurrence. Identify and report potential environmental impacts. Leads in the LTP and new projects for the STIVA and Warehouses sites. Develop and ensure the skill matrix to the EHS specialist about tap root analysis, JHA, high risk permits and others to improve the EHS performance as required by function and/or position. Selects, develops, and evaluates for the EHS personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Active participation in plant programs such as Safetrack observations, Safestart, suggestion box, Employee Idea System and LPA audits. Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Running external audit by customers ensuring the compliance and follow-up in the action plans. Oversees development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health, safety and security policies and procedures. Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety. Oversees the preparation of contracts for waste disposal firms and monitors waste handling. Analyze and solve problems for production, safety, logistics, engineering, materials, and quality departments. Validate corrective and preventive actions derived from Incident Investigations Perform cost reduction analysis to determinates possible savings and if the projects are approved, implement those changes. Responsible for the analysis required for the CARs necessary to support the new product implementation or major process changes. Provide feedback to design engineering to improve the product introduction process. Support manufacturing functions with design related input and assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues. Ensure compliance for EHS Training program. Train your staff in procedures and instructions. Participate in the EHS committee’s activities for single or multiple facilities. Requirements Environmental & Safety engineering or similar degree 3-5 years of experience as EHS Engineer or similar position. Risk management, Mexican laws and regulations (Federal, State and Local) in Environmental & Occupational, Health and Safety matters, waste management and reduction techniques, ISO 14001 – 45001, CTPAT, OEA, Management of Change, job safety analysis, problem solving and incident investigation methods, environmental management systems, occupational health, and safety management systems, MS Office. MS office knowledge English 80%
