Job Title: Teaching Faculty I, 12 Month Salaried (Emergency Management and Homeland Security Academic Program) Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 60885 Department [The Department is the Emergency Management and Homeland Security Academic Program.](https://em.fsu.edu/) Responsibilities Job duties include no less than 75% instruction. Instruction includes both online and classroom offerings of courses in the fields of Emergency Management, Homeland Security, and/or UAS Operations. Instruction also includes creating and supervising experiential learning activities for students in the above fields. Other responsibilities include conducting departmental research, creative activities and/or sponsored activities. Research will include fieldwork and deployments in emergency management and UAS operations as part of ongoing departmental research activities. Qualifications Academic doctorate or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Teaching Faculty I. Additional education and experience as required by position. * Classroom and online teaching experience with emergency management and/or UAS Operations. * Experience with, and evidence of, custom built courses that address emergency management or small drone operation. * Experience partnering with non-academic institutions, specifically as it relates to emergency management and UAS operations. * Familiar with UAS operations related to emergency management. * Excellent written and oral English communications skills. * Successful teaching performance evaluations – ideally for both classroom and online offerings * Evidence of research related to the fields of emergency management and/or UAS operations. Preferred Qualifications * Familiarity with using learning management systems for teaching courses. * Familiarity with the field of Geographic Information System (GIS).
