Job Description
Job Purpose The Site Partner is a key driver of overall performance and operational excellence. This role oversees management, administration, operations, financial performance, compliance, and risk at the site. The Site Partner ensures delivery of high-quality service, profitability, and long-term sustainability by coordinating people, processes, and resources effectively. This position is ideal for a seasoned retail operations professional with deep knowledge of fuel and retail environments, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to balance strategy with hands-on operational management. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Business Growth Deliver on the site plan and budget, focusing on sales and profit growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities for growth, expansion, and process improvement while ensuring profitability. Analyse operational efficiency, identify gaps, and implement improvement strategies. Anticipate industry trends and position the site for long-term success. Operations Management Oversee day-to-day site operations including fuel handling, retail outlets, storage, stock, and distribution. Manage suppliers, inventory, and stock control while ensuring optimal service delivery. Oversee compliance with PEG policies, franchisor standards, and South African legal requirements. Drive HSEQ compliance and manage safety checks, insurance claims, and corrective actions. Uphold customer service excellence and handle complaints with professionalism. Oversee marketing, promotional campaigns, and competitor benchmarking. Manage facility maintenance, equipment, and site upgrades. Financial Oversight Control site budgets, monitor expenses, and maximise revenue. Analyse daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track financial performance. Authorise payments, manage daily cash-ups, and reconcile fuel and bank transactions. Oversee energy consumption, margins, and cost control. Reporting & Compliance Submit statutory and operational reports to Head Office. Review financial and operational data to inform strategic decisions. Report on safety, customer feedback, market trends, and competitor activity. People & Leadership Manage all HR functions including recruitment, performance management, training, and staff development. Oversee employee rosters, payroll administration, leave, and disciplinary processes. Build a high-performing culture through mentorship, coaching, and motivation. Foster collaboration, transparency, and alignment with organisational values. Requirements: Education Degree in Business Management or a related field (NQF 7 required; NQF 8 preferred). Experience Minimum 8 years managerial experience in fuel and retail operations, with deep knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards. 710 years related retail management experience in a comparable environment preferred.
