Lead / Head Graphic Designer

Duties: Brand Identity & Visual Strategy: Develop and maintain a cohesive visual identity that aligns with the companys branding and positioning. Ensure that all design elements, colour schemes, typography, and imagery reflect the luxury, wellness, and skincare aesthetics. Create and enforce brand guidelines to maintain uniformity across all touchpoints. These guidelines would be shared with distributors, spa and stakeholders. Marketing & Advertising Design: Design and oversee creative assets for print and digital marketing , including brochures, packaging, website visuals, social media graphics, and promotional materials. Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling campaign visuals for product launches, seasonal promotions, and spa services. Develop visually appealing email templates, newsletters, and advertisements that align with brand messaging. This would include the new email newsletter designs for the brand. Product & Packaging Design: Assist the lead packaging designer (where need be) to design product labels, packaging, and in-store displays that enhance the consumer experience. Innovate in sustainable and eco-friendly packaging solutions, considering brand ethos. Digital & Social Media Content: Assist, where necessary, the design of engaging and visually striking content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.). Work with the content team to create aesthetic website banners, blog images, and UI/UX improvements. Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Coordination: Work closely with the marketing, product development, e-commerce, and sales teams to align design strategies with business objectives. Support the HR team in designing internal branding materials , such as employee handbooks, training guides, and corporate presentations. Assist in conceptualizing and designing spa menu cards, treatment guides, and promotional event materials. Market Research & Trends Analysis: Stay updated with the latest graphic design trends, beauty industry aesthetics, and digital marketing strategies. Research competitor branding and identify opportunities for differentiation and brand enhancement . Event & Retail Space Design: Conceptualize and design booth displays, banners, and signage for trade shows, exhibitions, and corporate events. Assist in creating visual merchandising concepts for spa locations and skincare retail outlets. Ensure that store displays and printed materials reflect seasonal campaigns and product themes . Website & E-commerce Design: Collaborate with the web development team to create an aesthetic and user-friendly online shopping experience. Design landing pages, product pages, and digital ads that drive conversion. Optimize images, banners, and infographics to enhance website performance and customer engagement. Requirements: Grade 12 Degree in Graphic Design/ Visual Communication. At least 5 years experience. Must have a Graphic Design portfolio that is attached to your application. Be able to work in office full time for at least the first 3 months. Be located full time in Cape Town, South Africa. Have a car and be able to drive around if necessary. Good time management and organisation. Maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure. Strong writing and verbal communication skills with an eye for storytelling and brand voice. Someone who takes initiative, thinks on their feet, is flexible, adapts to situations and stressful situations. Someone who is able to meet deadlines in short time periods and adapt to a stressful environment in some situations. Someone who is emotionally strong. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in the luxury, niche, spa, wellness and hospitality industry and can show their portfolio of work in this industry. Computer literate (Adobe Creative Suite / Photoshop / Canva / Figma / ChatGPT) Video Editing Experience in motion graphics Passion/experience in luxury wellness/cosmetics, spa brands and hospitality.
