Pay Information $2,646 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9pm to 7:30am Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; 2 years of ambulatory & radiation safety experience preferred License: NYS RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Radiology experience required; ICU/ED experience preferred Description: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe and competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and by applying the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management. Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. Prioritizes all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care, and delegating to others as appropriate. Educates patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the interdisciplinary patient care team. Manages assignments within the Care Delivery Model and demonstrates the effective allocation of material resources. Role models the principles of Relationship Centered Care through various patient interactions. Considers the patient's values, preferences, cultural diversity, expressed needs, and knowledge in all aspects of care. Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family. Uses evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care. Initiates service recovery for patients and family members who have concerns, escalating to management as needed. Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue and actions. Conducts purposeful rounding on assigned patients addressing essential care needs. Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement. Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge crucial to quality and safety in the patient population served. Implements process improvement strategies based on institutional evidence and procedures. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice activities. Contributes to quality and safety practices and compliance measures. Implements high reliability principles to provide a safe environment for patients. Documents nursing practice accurately to support quality and performance improvement initiatives. Performs charge nurse duties as assigned. Coordinates with clinical leadership to ensure resources are utilized appropriately and inventory is sufficient for patient care. Escalates resource deficits to clinical leadership as needed. Demonstrates patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to patient care in terms of all resources. Facilitates patient throughput on a shift basis. Contributes to a supportive environment of care for clinical colleagues, patients, and families. Advances clinical competence in nursing practice to progress through professional stages. Projects a professional image and communicates with respect, compassion, and empathy. Incorporates ethical principles into decision-making for patient and family.
