Job Description Job Description A Carter Lumber Draftsman creates basic residential and agricultural drawings. This is done by creating plans and detailed drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Requires accurate knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the building industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company and customer service are necessary to this position. Requirements: Understanding of home, pole building, garage, barn, and deck components Competency in basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry Computer Aided Design (CAD) or Revit software experience very desirable Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook Experience in residential new home CAD drafting a plus Responsibilities: Drafting Prepares construction drawings from preliminary designs by transforming conceptual designs into working construction documents. Modifies plans that have been changed by the customer and ensures that designs adhere to established specifications and standards. Learns and understands updated drafting software. Field Support Interacts with outside sales representatives and contractors to develop a finished product. Provides answers to common questions regarding construction drawings.
