TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified CVICU RN in Parkersburg, West Virginia, 26101! Pay Information $2,488 per week About The Position Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Fresh open heart experience preferred - Experience with >6 hours post-op open heart patients - CRRT experience - Temporary pacemaker and post-permanent pacer experience - Acute MI pre/post-cath experience - Mediastinal and chest tube experience - Ventilator experience - Hypothermia protocol experience - Experience with specific medication drips - Arterial line experience - IABP and Impella experience preferred - Hemodynamic monitoring and Swan-Ganz experience preferred Description: The unit consists of mixed acuity beds with both step down and ICU status patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are as follows: 1:1 for fresh hearts and devices 1:2 for ICU status patients 1:3 for step down status patients Common diagnoses include: Atrial fibrillation Heart blocks Bradycardia NSTEMI STEMI Cardiac arrest Hyper/hypotension Pulmonary embolisms Cardiogenic shock Heart surgery (CABG/valves) Heart failure Thoracic surgery (VATS, lobectomy, etc.) Charge nurses may take assignments during night shifts. Patient care technicians are available, with a ratio of 1-2 per shift. Respiratory therapists are on-site 24/7. Monitors are observed by dedicated techs off the unit, while nurses are responsible for reading their own strips. Self-scheduling and block scheduling requests are allowed. Weekend and holiday requirements will be established based on unit needs. Travelers may float to other units as necessary. Royal blue scrubs are the designated uniform for this role. A one-week orientation will be provided, including training modules.
