Job Description

Job Purpose: To provide technical support, installation, servicing, and maintenance of wide format and production printers. The specialist will ensure optimal performance of print equipment, deliver high-quality service to clients, and support pre- and post-sales technical processes. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and calibrate wide format and production printers at client sites. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of printers (e.g., Canon, HP, Xerox, Epson, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, etc.). Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to print equipment and resolve technical faults. Manage firmware updates and network configurations for connected devices. Conduct diagnostics, perform testing, and ensure machines operate at peak performance. Provide technical support to clients both onsite and remotely. Train users on proper printer usage, maintenance routines, and basic troubleshooting. Maintain accurate service logs and documentation. Collaborate with the sales and service team to provide technical input and customer feedback. Maintain knowledge of new technologies, tools, and industry trends in digital printing. Adhere to company health and safety policies and ensure compliance with service standards. Requirements: Qualifications: National Diploma or Technical Certification in Electronics, IT, or a related field. OEM certifications on specific printer brands (advantageous). Experience: 3–5 years' experience in servicing and maintaining wide format or production printers. Experience with digital print solutions, RIP software (e.g., Fiery, ONYX), and color calibration. Skills: Strong technical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with networked printing environments and IP-based configuration. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks independently. Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Office and diagnostic tools/software. Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License. Willingness to travel for client visits and support. Ability to lift and move equipment when needed.
