Job Description

Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timeous end-to-end payroll processing for 600 employees on Sage People 300 Process payroll for weekly, biweekly, and monthly employees Accurately process new hires, temporary employees, transfers, and terminations Administer payroll-related elements such as leave, overtime, bonuses, incentives, garnishees, loans, fines, and allowances Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PAYE, UIF, SDL, etc.) Reconcile payroll reports and resolve variances promptly Employee Support: Respond to payroll queries in a professional and timely manner Issue payslips, and related payroll documents Support HR with onboarding by setting up employee payroll records Compliance & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and tax requirements Prepare payroll reports for management and statutory bodies Assist with annual audits and submissions (EMP201, EMP501, etc.) Ensure confidentiality of payroll and employee information at all times Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate payroll records and filing systems (digital & physical) Liaise with finance regarding payments, deductions, and reconciliations Support cross-departmental projects requiring payroll input Requirements & Qualifications Education & Experience: Matric / Grade 12 (essential) Diploma or certificate in Payroll / HR / Finance (advantageous) 23 years proven experience in payroll administration (Sage People 300 experience highly advantageous) Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of payroll systems and processes Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Effective communication and problem-solving abilities Professional, confidential, and approachable attitude Teamwork orientated with a collaborative mindset Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel essential) Experience with payroll software (Sage, Pastel, or similar) Familiarity with HR and time & attendance systems (advantageous) Additional Requirements: Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines Own transport or reliable commute to Somerset West How to Apply If you meet the above requirements and believe you are the right fit for this role, please submit your CV and a short cover letter to:
