Job Description Job Description Maintenance Crew Job Description Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in building and grounds maintenance. Desire to continue career improvement. Familiarity with computers and software relating to maintenance and inventory. Ability to read chemical labels. Ability to read material safety data sheets (MSDS). Ability to initiate and complete work orders. Have a valid driver's license, be able to drive, and qualify under insurance carrier when driving a company vehicle. React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. Safely operate all equipment and machinery as necessary. Other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cuts lawn using power or riding mower; trims and edges around walks, flower beds, walls, etc. Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs; prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth. Sprays lawns, trees and shrubs with fertilizers and insecticides. Removes snow from roads using heavy equipment and ice from building walkways and steps; Rake leaves, clean and sweep litter. May perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping. May perform routine laboring and maintenance duties when groundskeeping work has been completed. Must be a team player and work unsupervised, able to follow directions, willing to learn, available to work holidays and some weekend mornings in summer, overtime could be available in winter. Swimming Pool Maintenance Cleans swimming pool, pool deck, equipment areas, filter system for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary and safe condition. Evaluates equipment function for the purpose of maintaining facilities and/or complying with mandated health requirements. Inspects swimming pool, deck, mechanical equipment, machinery, fixtures, emergency equipment, for the purpose of ensuring that it is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying necessary repairs. Maintains pool, including proper chemical and pH rate (e.g. adjusts water analyzer, adding chemicals, etc.) for the purpose of complying with mandated safety and health requirements for pool water purity and balance. Maintains records (e.g. logs, etc.) for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference trail and/or ensuring compliance with mandated requirements. Performs preventive maintenance tasks (e.g. repairing fiberglass, plastic and concrete; resurfacing, and routine repairs to swimming pools, auxiliary equipment and related items. Prepares purchase orders for supplies, equipment and parts for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items as needed. Sets up and/or moves equipment, blocks, benches, chairs, tables, umbrellas. Troubleshoots and maintains pool strainers, chemical mixer, heaters for the purpose of ensuring proper working order. Trash and recyclables pick up and removal. Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions: 1. Requires prolonged sitting or standing. 2. Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects. 3. Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching. 4. Requires climbing and balancing. 5. Must work indoors and outdoors year-round. 6. Must work in noisy and crowded environments. 7. Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors. 8. Must be able to drive a mechanical vehicle. 9. Must be able to work in high places. 10. Must be available summer weekend early morning. 11. Must be available for flexible schedule in winter when necessary.
