Unit Profile: Behavioral Health Department with an adult focus (ages 18). Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Psychiatry to join our Behavioral Health team. This position involves working with a diverse patient population, focused on acute inpatient care and crisis stabilization for psychiatric disorders. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care within a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities: - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for psychiatric patients. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to establish treatment plans and monitor patient progress. - Provide education and support to patients and their families. - Administer medications and manage withdrawal/detox protocols as needed. - Ensure patient safety and a therapeutic environment. - Perform behavioral health assessments and develop care plans for patients experiencing acute crises. Qualifications: - Current RN license and BLS certification (AHA) - Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute inpatient behavioral health settings. - Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), specifically Cerner, is preferred. - Strong organizational skills and ability to handle challenging situations with compassion and professionalism. - Must be able to float within units of the Behavioral Health Department as needed. Work Schedule: - 12-hour shifts with guaranteed weekly hours. - Required to work every other weekend. Patient Care Focus: - Handling psychiatric disorders with a focus on acute crisis stabilization, including expertise in detox protocols for substances such as benzodiazepines.
