Mechanic (Plant/Yellow Metal)

Job Specification: Diesel Mechanic (Temp/Project-Based Contract) Location: Benoni, Gauteng Start Date: ASAP or 01 September 2025 Contract Type: Temporary / Project-Based Salary: R25,000 – R30,000 per month (depending on experience) Overview: Our client based in Benoni is urgently seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a temporary project-based contract . The successful candidate must have experience working on both diesel and petrol vehicles/trucks , as well as plant machinery and yellow metal equipment . This role is ideal for a hands-on, experienced mechanic who can hit the ground running and contribute to a key project. The contract will run until the end of the project. Key Responsibilities: Conduct maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel and petrol trucks and vehicles Service and repair plant machinery and yellow metal equipment Perform fault finding and mechanical troubleshooting Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance Maintain accurate records of work performed and report to the project supervisor Ensure adherence to health and safety standards at all times Requirements: Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic working with: Diesel/petrol vehicles and trucks Plant machinery and yellow metal equipment Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience Semi-skilled mechanics or Red Seal-qualified candidates will be considered Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Available to start immediately or no later than 01 September 2025 Must be reliable and committed for the duration of the project Own transport is advantageous Contract Details: Type: Temporary / Project-based Location: On-site in Benoni Start: ASAP or 01.09.2025 Duration: Until end of the project Salary: R25,000 – R30,000 per month (depending on experience)
